MONTEVERRO
Monteverro 2013, James Suckling
Rating: 97/100

This is a Bordeaux blend that competes with the best of Tuscany such as Sassicaia and Ornellaia. It’s so structured and refined with beautiful length and sophistication. Full body, gorgeous tension. Fantastic aromas and flavors of currants, plums and tile. Hints of hazelnut and lavender. Linear and polished at the finish. A wine that delivers so much now but will be even better in four to five years. Best ever from here. From organically grown grapes.

Rating: 95/100

A beautiful wine, the 2013 Monteverro sports a thickly extracted and slightly retro style that recalls the heyday of the super Tuscans. It offers a subtle twist of nostalgia, but it does so with a confident personality. Dark fruit, spice, tobacco and cured leather come together as a united front. The blend consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The mouthfeel delivers ample power and textural richness.

Monteverro 2010, Weinwisser/René Gabriel
Rating: 19/20

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot. Sattes Purpur. intensives Bouquet; feine Erd- Blutnoten, fleischiger Ansatz, sehr tiefgründig.

Monteverro 2012, Vinous
Rating: 93/100

The flagship 2012 Monteverro is quite expressive from the get-go. Mocha, plums, espresso, sweet herbs and licorice all open up nicely. Dark, pliant and expressive, the 2012 offers plenty of Maremma generosity in a mid-weight, polished style that holds considerable appeal. This is another strong showing from the team at Monteverro.
