Monteverro 2018, Weinwisser
Sattes und doch elegantes Bouquet mit reifer roter Frucht, feiner Beerigkeit und mit Luft floralen und ätherischen Noten: Rote Wildkirschen, Cassis, rauchige Anklänge, ganz feine Röstaromatik, wechseln sich mit Haiti-Vanilleschote und rosa Blüten ab. Am Gaumen punktet er mit saftiger Prägnanz, enormem Zug und Frische. Noch blutjung mit noch nicht ganz geöffneten Verästelungen, zeigt aber jetzt schon eine enorme Präsenz, Griffigkeit und Feinheit. Das Finessenstück wird von feinsten Säureadern und geschliffenem Tannin fest zusammengehalten. Ein fast schon kühl anmutender Maremma Grand Cru, den ich zwischen dem grandiosen 2016er und 2019er ansiedle. Bravo!
Monteverro 2018, Falstaff
Funkelndes, kraftvolles Rubinviolett. Kompakte Nase mit Noten nach saftigen, dunklen Brombeeren, Schwarzkirschen und Ribiseln, im Hintergrund feine Würze. Stoffig und zupackend am Gaumen, zeigt kerniges, griffiges Tannin, baut sich gut auf, im Finale fester Druck und im Nachhall nach Tabak.

Blackcurrants and black licorice with dried flowers and sandalwood. Full bodied, really racy and powerful with great tannins. Flavorful and very long.
Tinata 2017, Wine Advocate by Robert Parker
This wine represents a terrific marriage between Rhône varieties and sunny coastal Tuscany. From a very hot and dry vintage, the Monteverro 2017 Tinata (Syrah and Grenache with 7,829 bottles released) shows more balance next to the 2018 vintage, which is characterized by a more monotone layer of sweet cherry cola. This vintage, on the other hand, has more fruit depth, and although the flavors are on the ripe side with blackberry preserves, you get more nuance. The mouthfeel is creamy, rich and long. I
Monteverro 2017, Wine Advocate by Robert Parker
This is the headline wine from Monteverro. The 2017 Monteverro is Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot with a more important oak regime (in terms of time and types of barrel) compared to the more accessible Terra di Monteverro. This wine is fully concentrated and very rich. It’s almost too much of a good thing with dark fruit layers, spice and savory tobacco. It’s definitely bold and is a lot to take in.
